Speakers Profile:
Ms Chin Suit Fang is a Senior Executive Director and Markets Leader at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Malaysia. As Markets Leader her role encompasses Strategic Planning, Business Development, Marketing & Communications, Branding and Business Research & Knowledge Management. In her role, she works with the firm’s leaders in driving the firm’s strategic thrusts, targeting and proposal support and positioning the firm in its key Points of View. She also works with the partners and directors in developing thought leadership positions, branding and media management. A past member of the PwC Global Gender Advisory Council, Suit Fang also pioneered three Internal Firm Centres of Business Development, Training, and Human Resource. Suit Fang is a member of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants and member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants.
 
YB Senator Dato’ Sri Idris Jala is the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Performance Management & Delivery Unit (PEMANDU) since August 2009.
Prior to his current office, he was appointed Managing Director and CEO of Malaysia Airlines in December 2005, in the aftermath of the company’s biggest financial loss in its corporate history. Prior to joining Malaysia Airlines, he spent 23 years at Shell. Between 2002 and 2005, Dato’ Sri Idris was the Managing Director, Shell MDS (Malaysia) and Vice President, Shell Malaysia Gas & Power (Malaysia). Between 2000 and 2002, he was Vice President, Retail Marketing, Shell International, based out of London. He was also Vice President, Business Development Consultancy where he led a team of top notch internal consultants on radical business improvement projects, and revamped the Shell global retail business model in order to achieve profitable growth. Between 1998 and 2000, he was the Managing Director of Shell Sri Lanka, where he helped to shape the turnaround of Shell’s LPG business in Sri Lanka. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies and Management from Universiti Sains Malaysia and a Masters degree in Industrial Relation from Warwick University, United Kingdom.
 
Mr Johan Mahmood Merican is the appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad. He has 16 years working experience across the Government and private sectors.Johan most recently served as Principal Private Secretary to the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department. His roles in the Government involved policy work at the Economic Planning Unit and Ministry of Finance. He was involved in the development of human capital related initiatives such as the GLC Blue Book on Performance-linked Compensation policy, PINTAR (GLC school adoption program) and Trust Schools (public private partnership model for schools).
Prior to serving the Government, Johan’s experience in the private sector is mainly in the corporate finance and accounting roles at MRCB, UDA Holdings Berhad, Sime Darby and PricewaterhouseCoopers. Johan holds a first class honours degree in Economics from the University of Cambridge and is a Chartered Accountant (Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW).
 
YBhg Dato’ Noorizah Hj Abd Hamid is the Managing Director of PLUS Expressways Bhd. Prior to that, she was the Managing Director of Faber Group Bhd. She was also the Managing Director of Faber Hotels Holdings Sdn Bhd. Prior to this; she was attached to various positions with Terengganu State Development Corporation, Permodalan Nasional Berhad and Amanah Merchant Bank Bhd, Renong Bhd and HBN Management Sdn Bhd. She holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration, majoring in Finance and Management and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the Central Michigan University, United States of America.
Currently, she also sits on the Boards of Commissioner of PT Lintas Marga Sedaya and PT Cimanggis Cibitung Tollways in Indonesia, PLUS BKSP Toll Ltd in India and Konsortium Lebuhraya Butterworth-Kulim (KLBK) Sdn Bhd. She is also the Executive Director of Expressway Lingkaran Tengah Sdn Bhd (ELITE), Linkedua (Malaysia) Bhd and PLUS Helicopter Services Sdn Bhd.
 
Mr Paul P Subramaniam is the Knowledge Management & Training Partner of ZICOlaw. Prior to that, he practiced as a litigation lawyer for 22 years, being involved in several significant cases. Paul now keeps the lawyers and partners updated as to changes in the law and industry which would impact our clients. He also serves as editor of our publications to our clients. In addition, Paul manages a Knowledge Database and also a Precedent Bank. His areas of practice are General Litigation and Dispute Resolution, Corporate Disputes, Human Capital Disputes, Banking and Financial Disputes, Contractual and Commercial Disputes, as well as Banking and Finance, Insurance, Construction, Property, Knowledge Management. He holds a B.Sc (Applied Mathematics) and LL.B from Monash University, Australia.
 
YBhg Dato’ Sri Haji Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir was appointed Managing Director of PROTON on 1 January 2006. He also sits on the Boards of various subsidiaries within the PROTON Group of companies. Dato’ Sri Haji Syed Zainal Abidin graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Maryland, USA and began his career as a Project Engineer with Petronas Gas Sdn. Bhd. in 1987, prior to joining Petroliam Nasional Berhad in 1992 as the Senior Executive of Corporate Planning & International Business Development. He then left to join HICOM Holdings Berhad in 1995, where he assumed various senior positions in the company. Dato’ Sri Haji Syed Zainal Abidin was appointed as Senior General Manager of PERODUA in 1999. Subsequently, he was appointed Executive Director of PERODUA Auto Corporation Sdn. Bhd. in 2002, and in October 2005, promoted to Deputy Managing Director.
 
YM Tengku Dato’ Zafrul Tengku Aziz holds a B.Sc. (Hons) in Economics and Accounting from Bristol University, UK and a Master of Finance & Economics from Exeter University, UK. Maybank appointed him as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Maybank Investment Bank in May 2010 and then Chief Executive Officer (CEO)a month later. He has wide investment banking and corporate experience having served at senior leadership positions in key institutions over the last 14 years. Tengku Zafrul was previously the Group Director of K & N Kenanga Holdings Berhad, and a board member of Kenanga Investment Bank Berhad, Kenanga Capital Sdn Bhd and Capital Investment Bank (Labuan) Limited. He was appointed as Director at Credit Agricole in the early years of his career. He had also previously served as CEO of Tune Money Sdn Bhd, Head of Investment Banking in Citigroup Malaysia Group Managing Director of ECM Avenue Berhad and CEO of Avenue Securities. Tengku Dato’ Zafrul is the Chairman of Leaders for Tomorrow, and Deputy President of the Kuala Lumpur Business Club. He is also a council member of the Malaysian Investment Banks Association (MIBA).
 
YBhg Dato’ Sri Zamzamzairani Mohd Isa is the Managing Director and Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of TM. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Communication Engineering from Plymouth Polytechnic, United Kingdom, and has attended the Kellog Shool of Management programme in Corporate Finance, Strategies for Creating Shareholder Value. He has vast experience in the telecommunications industry, having held senior management positions in several multinationals, such as Global One and Lucent Technologies (Malaysia). Previous key positions in TM before assuming his current role include Senior Vice President, Group Strategy and Technology and Chief Executive Officer of Malaysia Business. Dato’ Sri Zamzamzairani sits on the Boards of several TM Group Subsidiaries uncluding as Chairman of VADS Bhd and TM Net Sdn Bhd; and Deputy Chairman of GITN Sdn Bhd
